Madison Board of Aviation Commissioners
The Madison Board of Aviation Commissioners (BOAC) was established in 1956 under Indiana Code to oversee the management and development of the Madison Municipal (now Regional) Airport. The BOAC serves as the governing authority for the airport and is responsible for making critical decisions related to airport operations, infrastructure, finances, leases, and long-term planning.
The Board is comprised of four appointed members--two Democrats and two Republicans—reflecting bipartisan representation as required by Indiana law. Each member serves a four-year term, and appointments are made by local elected officials.

The airport is operated by the City of Madison, Indiana, which also serves as the airport’s Fixed Base Operator (FBO). The team includes two full-time employees and a group of dedicated part-time staff, all working together to ensure smooth and safe operations.
Airport personnel are responsible for keeping the airport open and operational 365 days a year, providing essential services to pilots, tenants, and the public regardless of weather, season, or challenge.
