Madison Regional Airport and Ivy Tech Madison Campus are pleased to announce that FAA Testing is now available in Madison!

Testing center hours and location

 FAA Knowledge Tests are available on the following days and times.
​Mondays – 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Wednesdays – 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM / 1:30 – 4:30 PM

how do i sign up for an faa knowledge test?

Ivy Tech Madison Campus now provides FAA computer-based Airman Knowledge Tests for Madison and surrounding areas. Instant end-of-exam results are available to examinees via a printable score report. 

Prior to Registration you will need the following:
- FAA Tracking Number (FTN): This can be found on your IACRA https://iacra.faa.gov/IACRA/Default.aspx
- Flight Instructor Sign-Off
​- A PSI Account

Procedures for Registration:

FAA Airman Knowledge Testing is available for online scheduling - https://faa.psiexams.com/faa/login

If you are a new user, and want to start scheduling your exam, click Create an Account (In order to create an account, you will need your FAA Tracking Number). Otherwise, click Sign In. You may need to verify your IACRA information.

 Once you have registered and verified your information, please do the following:

- Under “Find a Test Center” you will select Ivy Tech Madison Indiana
- You will then be able to view available time blocks for each testing site
- Select the Knowledge Test you wish to take.

What do i need to take the test?

​On Test Day:
  • Present current identification that includes photo, signature, date of birth, and physical/residential address.  Acceptable forms of I.D. for U.S. citizens:  driver's license, government I.D. card, and/or military I.D. card, passport, OR alien residence card.  Please note:  If passport does not include residential address, examinee must submit an additional document which shows residential address, such as utility bill, lease agreement, etc.  Acceptable forms of I.D. for non U.S. citizens:  Must include a passport AND one or more of the following:  driver's license issued by a state or U.S. territory, OR identification card issued by any government entity and printed in English.
  • Present flight instructor/ground instructor authorization to test, if applicable.
  • Present failed or expired knowledge exam report with instructor signature that verifies the student is ready to retest,  if applicable.
  • Personal possessions are not allowed in the Testing Center (no cell phones, writing instruments, or any type of device with text or video recording capabilities).
  • Bring only FAA authorized test materials, which includes calculators (with no stored memory), rulers, straight edges, scales, conversion tables, navigation computers (E6B or electronic version without stored memory), Nav Log sheets, protractors, or plotters.
